One good thing about baking and cooking all the time is the fun I get to have experimenting in the kitchen.
Today I had two little helpers (my 4 yr old daughter and 4 yr old niece).
These girls love to eat cookies!
Patiently waiting for them to cool off before decorating – ah – not so much, lol!
I have really been wanting to give this cute Wilton Flower Treat Pan a try using cookie dough. I used my favorite sugar cookie dough and rolled them into a ball and then pressed them into the greased silicone pan. Press down hard or the design won’t impress onto the dough. I baked them until they just started to brown on the edges. Let them cool. Then flipped them out to cool some more.
When the cookies are completely cooled you can start decorating them however you like. You should cool them completely before decorating or the icing or chocolate will melt. If you are baking them in advance store them in an airtight container – use wax paper between the layers.
I did not have royal icing so I melted some candy coated chocolate I had on hand and put it into a squeeze bottle and decorated with sprinkles and non-perils. Don’t let the chocolate harden or the decorations will not stick. Fun project to do with the kids for spring.
Cookies were so cute. The prettiest cookies I’ve ever seen …. Good job girls!
